Hi, I’m Hannah Springer, the designer and maker behind Modern Petal, a creative studio where design and handmade goods bloom together. For nearly a decade, I’ve poured my heart into creating thoughtful, timeless designs for both businesses and everyday life. With an eye for detail and a love for storytelling through design, I bring all sorts of ideas to life in a way that feels both intentional and unique!
But Modern Petal is more than just a design studio; it’s a reflection of who I am. A devoted wife and mother, a lifelong DIY enthusiast, and a graphic artist. Whether I’m transforming old furniture into something new, sewing handmade gifts, or designing a brand that captures someone’s spirit, creativity is the thread that ties it all together!
The Story Behind Modern Petal
Modern Petal began as a dream to blend beauty, meaning, and creativity in everyday moments. What started as a passion for paper goods and wedding invitations slowly blossomed into something greater, a space where design meets craftsmanship and ideas come to life in many forms.
Over the years, I’ve learned that creativity is never a straight line. My business has evolved alongside me — through experimentation, growth, and a few confusing middle moments. Each season has taught me something new about who I am as a designer, a maker, and a person.
Today, Modern Petal represents my belief that creativity is a lifelong journey. It’s not just about making things look beautiful — it’s about building connections, learning new skills, and finding joy in the process.
My Creative Philosophy
I believe good design tells a story — one that’s soft yet strong, simple yet full of heart. Whether I’m designing a brand identity or handcrafting something for my shop, I want my work to feel warm, thoughtful, and genuine.
My philosophy is that design is everywhere — in the way things are put together, how they function, and how they make us feel. It’s not just about making something look pretty; it’s about creating something that feels right and serves a purpose. From the layout of a room to the packaging of a product, design influences how we experience the world.
In a world that moves quickly, I find inspiration in slowing down and appreciating small details — a color that feels calming, the texture of a handmade piece, or the balance between simple and intentional choices. Those details are what make something meaningful.
